Hi, i've been working on a model i've already rendered before updating with KF06 and had some issues with edge lines.

Before, they were black like they used to be but now they seem greyish. This is, when you are doing door opening lines and windows, its tuff I don't have time to put on photoshop. I tried using a model that worked and without changing any settings and the issue was still there. Its not a really urgent issue since i have an older version on my laptop that should do the job but its still a little pain since 80% of my work goes to using edge lines and laptop isn't made for rendering.

I have attached an image file to show you what i mean

  • We posted a new version, KG05, with a fix for this.

It turned out that the "auto save image" routine was saving an image that was just too bright.

It seems to be working fine now.

    Please try that. Thanks.

  • Any updates with that last minor issue?

  • Yes, it was related to the autosave feature.

I don't know if it will be fixed in a future version but it could be an issue if you actually don't remember that (and autosave is 5 at default) and start a 2 hours render that finishes with a light burst.

But thanks for the temporary fix!

  • It's probably related to the automatic image saving feature, which saves a backup image every so many passes during the rendering, in case the computer dies before all the passes are completed. It is set to 5 passes by default.

Try turning that off (set it to 0) and see if the bursts of lighting go away.

  • I don't know if its related but on the new version, each 5 passes, there seems to be a burst of lighting.

I don't know if its just me imagining things but I don't recall seeing a burst like that in previous versions.

  • We posted a version, KF28, with a fix for this.

It can be downloaded at this link:

  • Sorry, this definitely broke somehow.

We'll fix it and post a new version.
