We put out a new version today which supports Volumetric Fog and Sub Surface Scattering. I will add more about sub-surface scattering after I found a good model to test it with.
The fog works pretty well, bt don't plan to just grab a model, turn on fog, and love the results. It takes a bit more work than that.
First, you have to use the Path Tracer, Volumetric Fog does not work with the standard, Packet, engine.
Then you have to select settings for the amount of Scattering, Absorption and Scatter Direction. Currently the scattering and Absorption are entered as a percentage loss per meter in the fog area. I am going to change these to a percentage loss in the entire fog area, not a setting per meter, because it will be easier to use. But for now - try 0.05 for scattering, and then raise it or lower it to get the effect you want. In addition to our Volumetric Fog article, check out the thread in the nXt for AutoCAD forum for more tips.
Also Rich made some great improvements to the 3D PDF interface. I will add another thread for that.
