IRender nXt includes both biased and unbiased rendering engines.  The biased (Packet Mode) method creates great renderings relatively fast.  The unbiased (Path Tracer and Engine 4) can often complete each pass faster but require considerably more passes to produce a solution with no noise in the image.

I just published a brief description, you can read it here:  Biased or unbiased?

Biased method, 20 passes, about 4 minutes

Unbiased mode (Engine 4) 1000 passes, about 2 1/2 hours

Depending on your requirements for the rendering, select the rendering method that will provide a solution that meets your expectations for quality and performance.
