Hi,

Please have a look at the image.

Auto bump can only be set in SketchUp - not during rendering.

This is because it is a feature which is only applied when we create rendering meterials from images in SketchUp materials. It cannot be applied to other materials - such as library materials.

When you load the same material wizard from SketchUp, auto-bump (and also a render button) appear.

You will need to return to SketchUp, select auto bump - and then re-render the model.

(SketchUp version of material editor)

ok, so the "top" of bump parameter adjusting with see just under "Load Save Clear" in the picture I joined, shouldn't be visible!

Sure it's not possible to just adjust the level?

Actually, you can do auto bump yourself, and adjust the levels on the Advanced Material Editor.

This is the advanced material editor for a material with auto-bump set.

We set the "Strength" to 1.0 - which means the texture is used for color, and we set the Bump to 4.0 which means it is used for bump as well. So you can, (more or less), take any texture in any material and set the bump strength as well as the strength to get an auto bump effect.

I say "more or less" because some materials are already complex - perhaps with two textures, or with lines defined by a grid, and just setting the bump strength won't always do what you expect.

Ok Al that's a good info, but anyway, I don't want to be too heavy, lol, but I just want to talk about the little problem shown in the next image.

just a little display problem....

Regards

"Bump" is supposed to be hidden at the bottom of the wizard . We have a lot of problems with this stuff because people use different text sizes and fonts and sometimes things show up on one machine, but not on another.
Ah ok.
I see.
