Create renderings for print ?

Hello,

 

Recently installed iRender nxt for sketchup and I'm loving it.  We will be purchasing a license once trial expires.

 

We are taking simple cad layouts of furniture and importing them into sketchUp, applying colors and textures and then rendering for a nice finish.

 

My question is regarding the dpi output of the rendered images.  How can i get a good enough quality image for print?

 

Currently they are appox 96 dpi, and would need them to be 2-300 dpi.

 

Or is there a more efficient way to create renders for print that i'm unaware of?

    You need to determine the page size in inches and the DPI you want and use it to calculate the pixel size.

    For example, if you wanted an 11" x 14" image at 150 DPI, you would render it to 1650 x 2100 pixels.

    We do not change the DPI setting in the image, so if you want it to read 150 DPI, you would have to load it into Photoshop, or some other image editor, and change the DPI setting. Changing the DPI setting should not alter the pixel size or quality of the final rendering.

    For most print situations, the DPI is not important, but rather the pixel size of the image. If you have a problem though, change the DPI after rendering.
