  • I just tried version 276 and it does seem to be working properly.

The render farm can be a bit confusing, (even for us). One trick will be to look in the Farm Folder from time to time to see what is going on, and, of course, let us know if you have any problems.

(There are lots of interesting potential problems - like what happens if you shut down, or remove from the internet on of the farmer machines - to simulate a machine failure. The farm seems to continue pretty well when these problems occur, but you may want to test them out.)

  • I stuck with v276.

And yes, my user does not have admin privileges so it was not installed under her account.

  • Good news.

We'll have to find a way around that.

Did you wind up using version 276 or 239?

I presume from your comments that you installed the software as one user, with admin permissions, and then ran SketchUp as another user, and therefor we couldn't find the registry location.

  • That did the trick.  I just exported the registry entry with the admin login and then imported it with the user login.  Thanks.
  • After installing the 276 version, I see that it does put its install information in the same place in the registry.

If you are comfortable with the registry, could you look in this same place in Current_User to see if the path is set properly:

1214420885?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024I put the 276 in the path name during instllation just to make sure that I was looking at the new version. This is stored in Current_User rather than Local_Machine, so it could be we can't find it if you installed the render farm as a different user, or if the installation did not have permission to write to the registry.

  • While we are testing the new Render Farm version, could you uninstall it and install the older version (239) instead. That is the one we have tested in the past.:

Here are the download links for version 239:

  • That may be a clue. The latest version may be storing its installation information in a new place.

Let us install it here and see if we can get it to work.

  • the farm software I installed was: nXtFarm64_0276
  • $irnxt.nxtdll_call_is_farm_installed
    false

    $irnxt.get_global_String("sir_render_farm_folder")
Note: The Render Farm has not been installed.

  • Also, try this command form the ruby console:

    $irnxt.get_global_String("sir_render_farm_folder")
