Is there any diference between "Space design" and "BimUp5"

SpaceDesign and BimUp 5D use the same basic code.
SpaceDesign is primarily designed for people who will customize it for their own use. There are a couple of typical users:
1. You are creating a library of Components and want to store attributes in those components for reports - Part number, cost, weight, etc.
- You would then reuse the components internally, or distribute them to clients.
2. You have ruby scripts which create geometry and you want to add attributes in the components or groups for reports - Part number, cost, weight, etc.
- You would then use the ruby scripts internally, or distribute them to clients.
BiMUp 5D is customized for designers in the Construction field, who want to use the product for reports right out of the box - but don't want to take the time to customize it, create component libraries, etc.
SpaceDesign works best with Components in a library which have attributes in them already, (or Dynamic Components with Attributes), or for geometry generated from ruby scripts which add the attributes automatically.
BiMUp 5D is designed to work with constructed geometry - slabs, columns, stairs, etc. rather then Components placed from a library.
hey! so if i'm working as furniture maker/designer and if i would like to get reports for bill of materials, order lists and some other reports for pricing.... should i pick "Space Design"? thanks!
You sound like a good candidate for SpaceDesign.
SpaceDesign provides a basic parts list with as many attributes, etc. as you want. Other reports would have to be created by exporting a .CSV file to Excel and then creating the reports by hand)
