I’m trying to add edge lines to a rendering, but no matter what I try I can’t seem to get them to work! I’ve followed an online tutorial which is pretty straightforward (i.e. check the ‘show all edge lines’ box on the ‘special’ tab, and tried various pixel widths), but when I try it nothing happens. Have you any idea what might be causing this please?

As a fallback I’m overlaying a separately exported line drawing in photoshop but obviously this isn’t ideal.

  • You sent us your model, and it worked properly in the latest version.

Perhaps the edge line feature was broken in that version.

Download the latest version and see if that helps.

By the way - there are two ways to add edge lines - in one the lines are added as geometry - and reflect properly, etc. But can only be solid straight edge lines.

Edge lines added as geomtery to rendering - reflect properly:

    550px-Final_edge_lines.jpg?width=400

In the other we overlay the edges from the SketchUp model - however these to not reflect properly.

Edge lines from SketchUp overlayed over rendering:
