Saving Spacedesign settings in components

I am not sure if SpaceDesign is capable, I was under the impression it did, but I use the same individual component items in several different building designs and would like to be able to not have to edit/add the details each time.  So my question is will it save the price, weight, model number and a custom field and when you import/add it to a new design bring that information with it?

I have attached one of the pieces I am speaking about.  This piece will be used every 12' of the exterior.

Thanks,

John

  • I have LK01 so I will download the new version and install it and give that a shot.

    Thank you,

    John

  • I loaded your model, and right clicked on the component to see the attributes.

If this is not what happens for you check to see if you have the latest version - LK27

If you have that and you do not get these attributes, then it may be that this is a bug we have fixed and we will have to post a new version.

  • Rich,

Yes, I am doing that but here is what my issue is.  I setup the weight and item number and save the component.  Then when I build the new structure using these items and run a report none of the previously saved data is there.  Seems like it should work so I am sure I am missing a step somewhere.

Were you able to see the model, barcode # and other details on the attached component?

  • Yes - You can place the attributes in the component definition - and then save the definition to a component library using the SketchUp "Save as a local collection" command in the component window. Then use that local libtray to load the component into other models.
