Dear Al and Rich,
How do you use the 'Substitutions' window?
I don't know where to start.
I can only assume (or I could be wrong) that it has to be somehow linked with the SD calculations.

Dear Al,
I would keep substitutions for both, but expand on the naming:
- 'Formula Substitutes' are PREDEFINED at the outset by RPS
www.renderplus.com/wk/SpaceDesign_Calculations_w.htm
- 'Text Substitutes' are USER DEFINED in the 'Report' only.

The calculation Substitution use the same word "Substitutions", so I probably need ot change one or the other.
The substitution window defines variables which can be used in the report.
If your report text contains the phrase: %JOB NUMBER%, and the substitutions window defines a replacement for JOB NUMBER, then that replacement is used instead.
Take a look at: www.renderplus.com/wk/SpaceDesign_Substitutions_Tab_w.htm
The idea is that you can store the common text for various reports in Word (or another RTF - Rich Text - format, and then copy and paste that text into the Report Text areas of various SketchUp models.
If the RTF text contains %XXX% and the Substitutions tab defines XXX, then the chance will be applied without having to alter the RTF text for each SketchUp model.
