Most of the trees are made using I-Render's Rp Tree Maker. The trees in the foreground are all from Rp Tree Maker. The really good version (there's a free version) is supplied with I-Render nXt. Some of the small trees (like the Japanese Maple) are from the Tree Maker ready-made library. The trees from Rp are great as they are finalized with an alpha background where all the open space between leaves is actually open and not just white. This allows the light to shine through the tree and makes for much softer shadows.
The red plants and those along the porch are from 3D Warehouse..........some that I made.........the ones by the porch I think I have titled "flowering tree" The grass is from 3D warehouse. It's actually an .skm (SketchUp material). I think it's called Free Grass Texture.
The background trees and grass are all part of the same .jpg image I found on the Internet. As I recall it's from a company called JC Backings. They make backdrops for stage and screen, so they are pretty nice. You can buy them, but the samples they have on their web site (as you can see) are more than adequate. You have to mess with the positioning of the background in the 'Y' direction (under the Background Tab in the setup dialog) to get it to fall just where you want it. Here it's set up to blend nicely with the grass texture in the sketchup model.
The whole thing is rendered in I-Render nXt and then fiddled with in PS.
I really like this... How did you get your trees and plants so good? What did you use? The sky works really well. Could you give me any tips on how you got it like this? Thank you!
