How do I create a rendering with evening sky--exterior?  Is it possible with nXtRender, or do I need IRendernXt?

Can't really give you the requested informations, I just want to say, if some advance gurus can answer, I'm also interested by light adjustments for evening and sunshine. How to get these particular sky colors? by corresponfing hdri skies?

We had to fix some bugs to get the HDRi backgrounds working properly, and have placed those in a new update of IRender nXt.

Here I took a .JPG file of an evening sky, and used the background tab to convert it to a .HDR and use it as a Planar HDRi background:

Then I chose the Path Tracer renderer so that I could use lighting channels to adjust the HDRi background after rendering. And rendered the model. (This has an room with lights so I can balance artificial lighting with the background).

Here is the first rendering.

I will show you some of the adjustments I can make. However, these are much more impressive when you can use the slider bars to make them yourselves.

First I lowered the brightness of the overalls scene.

(Lighting channels will adjust the relative brightness, the Brightness slider is used to adjust overall brightness)

Then I used the Lighting Channels slider to make the background brighter (11), and then dimmem (0.1)

Hello, I tried this hart but i seem to have some problems.. I created a Cube and rendred it with sky like you did. I turned off both sky and Sun but my rendered image seems to have shadows although there is no sun and sky.. And the planar image is to high from the ground plane like what you just rendered, how do i adjust the height of the image?

How did you assign HDRI background in the light properties?

Thanx..

You also need to turn off "Sky reflects when off" and "Sky illuminates when off". These both turned off automatically for me when I chose the "Interior No Sun" preset.

There is no way to adjust the height of the image. You will have to alter the image in a paint program if you wan t raise it or lower it, and then recreate the .HDR file.

The HDRi is automatically assigned to Lighting Channel 8,  but only when you use the Path Tracer rendering engine.
