Our sister Forums - Flamingo  nXt for Rhino, and AccuRender nXt for AutoCAD, (by the way you may want to check them out from time to time. Sometime they will have ideas or features which we should add it IRender nXt for SketchUp, or AccuRender nXt for Revit), require forum members to upload an Avatar.

I have been hesitant to require Avatars on our forum. The forum looks much better if everyone posts an Avatar. However, I am concernedt that some people would refuse to join if they were required to upload an avatar.

What do you think?

I think your right - its the quality and cleverness of the forum members input thats important not the avatar - Certainly for me it would not be a `deal breaker` cannot think of any logical reason why it should be mandatory though.

It's a matter of convenience. If one is set up with an avitar, it is easy. If not, it is an unnecessary aggrevation. I made on and uploaded it. I'm set.

I agree with Boothy's response
I started encouraging members this morning to upload an avatar. I will probably continue to do that, rather than requiring one.
Encouraging new members to upload an avatar didn't work.

I am going to try requiring a photo for a while and see if that helps
