I'm not sure whether this is a demo issue, or general.

I'm trying out the software, and need to better understand the full
functionality.

Attempting to load accurender ar3 plants from library causes an
immediate
sketchup crash.

Same with materials when loading ar3.

I've had so many crashes, that I'm becoming discouraged.

Win7, 64Bit, Sketchup 7Pro.

Please notify me ASAP, so I may continue my eval and hopefully purchase
in
the next day or so.

Message with both the plant and material dialog box loads.

Trial versions for this version of IRender nXt are no longer available.

Contact Render Plus Systems for a new version.

The version you are using, IF17ar3, is over 6 months old.

Download the latest version from: http://www.renderplus.com/htm/download.htm

It should be version JD13
I'm using the "currently available version". The dialog box reports it wrong.
"I am using the latest version"

The original email you sent had the phrase: (VER: 2.0 IH17ar3 - JIMSFW - ) in it, that is what made me think you were you using the older version. But that error may have been from the AR3 reader.

AR3 materials are no longer supported. They have been replaced by the nXt materials.

AR3 plants should work. We will have to look to see why they are failing.

Sending me the full error message will help.

Attach the error message to this thread - unless it contains your license number. If it contains a license number, email it to al.hart@renderplus.com
Than you for the additional information. I discovered three bugs which we will need to fix:

1. The AR3 Plants and AR3 materials are not working because we are getting a "Demo Mode" error message when we try to load them. It turns out that we added a "hook" in our software just over a year ago to make sure people weren't trying to use it in trial mode more than a year after we published. Due to a bug, this message comes up when we run the AR3 DLL we use to load AR3 plants and materials. (We haven't recompiled that part of the code for over a year.) I will fix this. In the meantime, you cannot load AR3 plants and materials. Sorry.

2. You discovered a bug where a new material, without a texture, was being created when you tried to place a material from the material placement icon. I will try to duplicate this here and fix it.

3. Double clicking on a material in the Batch Renderer is supposed to highlight the material selected in the list of materials and load it. This doesn't seem to be working properly.

4. The path to your nXt libraries was not set properly. This is probably a result of uninstalling and reinstalling IRender nXt. The problem was fixed when you installed and reinstalled the libraries. However, we need to make a better way to search for these libraries when the path is forgotten.

5. You tried to change the scale of a texture in the Advanced Editor, and the change did not "stick". In general, you cannot change the first texture in the Advanced Editor, (for Materials which come from SketchUp), because we remake the texture when we extract the material again. We will look at this to see if we can provide a warning or something when the first texture is changed.

Again - thanks for your help on these items. If you run into any other problems, let me know.
We just uploaded a new Stable Release version, JI24, which seems to work with AR3 plants and materials properly.
