In a recent animation I rendered, I had several scenes that had certain components hidden to improve line of sight.  However, after viewing the finished product, the hidden elements in each scene did not translate and we're still present.

Long story short, I had to scrap that animation, rework each scene, and re-render.

Is this an issue with a setting in my iRender? Or something else?

Thanks,

Sorry for making you waste you time on this.

Hidden elements are not processed per scene unless there is also a layer change.

We only reload the model for each SketchUp scene if there was a layer change. So simply hiding something will not cause us to reload it.

We did not want to have to test and/or reload scenes to see if there was a change in hidden geometry between scenes. If was easy and quick to see if there was change in layers, and frankly, we never even though about changes in hidden geometry.

One reason for this is that we do not extract the geometry for each scene, and we do not extract hidden geometry at all.

For animations, we extract the entire model - including both visible and invisible layers  (when there are layer changes at scenes) - and remember what is in each layer. This lets us extract once, and then reload the extracted file every time there is a change of layers - loading only the visible layers

It would be a much slower process if we had to do a separate extract for each scene - especially if you had 100 scenes, but only 2 of then changed hidden geometry. If you can make this work for you with layers instead, that would be best for us.

Right on.

Layers it is.
