  • perfect! thank you!

  • Explode the group, and draw lines at the ridge line to break up the surface.

  • I created a profile and use follow me to path it around the building. i will try your suggestion for exploding the group.

    thank you for the assitance.

  • I haven't figured it out yet, but I notice that the roof is a single surface.

I suspect that we are getting the wrong normals for those ridges, or treating the intersection of those roof planes as soft edges when they are passed as a surface.

However, as a work-around, if I edit or explode the group that the roof surface is in and draw lines at the ridge lines, that breaks the surface into separate faces. Then it renders OK. You might try that until we figure out a way to fix this.

Maybe there is a simpler way to convert a surface into faces.

How did you make that roof?

  • i dont think so. i'm still learning the program. it rendered out perfect the first time, then the next time i got the black area seen at the roof.

  • Any chance those faces are reversed?

Can you send me the model?
