My computer fan’s speed increases when I start a rendering. About halfway through the rendering however, it increases dramatically to the point that it is so loud I feel like it is overloading the system to the point that I cancel out of the rendering. I’m on an HP system with a 2.50 GHz Intel Quad Core CPU with 8G ram. Is the issue purely related to the processor?

  • My laptop fan sometimes gets really loud when rendering also, but I've had the computer overheat.

IRender nXt just uses the CPU, so the computer has to try to keep it cool during processing.

It might help keep things cool if you set the rendering engine to use fewer cores when rendering, on the "Options/More" tab, but then it would render more slowly.
