Hello
I'd like just a precision a point which always gives me problem.
When we want to edit a lamp, we can do Richt click Edit Object Properties or right click Edit IRender lamp.
We usually don't find the same channel number in both dialog.
What is the right way?
Regards,
Alain

Really, it's a bit difficult.
I just created a new lamp, setting channel to 3 (in the creation dialog.
Now I right click on the lamp (linear one) to Edit Object Properties or Edit IRender Lamp, channel is 0 in both dialog.
Would it be possible to keep consistency about this info?
Regards,
Alain
This can be confusing because there are so many different wast to create a lamp or light source.
Setting the channel number for a light depends on how you created the light.
If you created a light bulb, using the IRender nXt Lamp Wizard, the you need to select "Edit IRender Lamp".
If you created the light source by selecting an existing object and editing its Object properties to treat the object as a light, then you need to use Object Properties to set its channel.
If you created a light by assign Illumination as a material property, then you ned to use the material editor to change its channel
Ok Al,
But according to my 2 tests, when we create a lamp and setting the channel at this time, it seems there is a problem because when we Edit IRender lamp afterwards, channel is 0.
And maybe I didn't way long enough but I wonder if the lamp is not off. Not really sure as lamps placed far from the camera are rendered only at the 4 or 5th passes. right?
I just checked and you are correct.
The lighting channel is not being set properly when you create a lamp.
We will fix this.
Ok, good Al.
