Boothy has been kind enough to give us a great model to be used for documentation on Lighting Channels and for a new video I plan to make next week.

The video is relatively easy, because all I have to do is to render the model, and play with the channels settings.

The tutorial is more of a challenge, because using lighting channels properly requires a lot of forethought - deciding which lights to put into which channel - (there are only 8) - and remembering to set up the channels before you extract the data for the rendering.

Here is the new page on Lighting Channels, Balanced Lighting Tutorial, and also the older page, Lighting Channels

Take a look, and offer any ideas you have on how I can make this easier for users.

Actually, you should look at the Wiki versions of these pages because as I make changes the Wiki versions will be updated immediately and the Web Page versions will only be updated later.

Balanced Lighting

Other Lights - (lights outside door) and Self glow - (glowing panels on the wall) - made very intense (40.0) for effect and other lighting channels adjusted to achieve desired effect.
