I specified colors and materials in my model but they are not rendering. The rendering is just in greyscale.

I would check to make sure that Normal is selected on the Render Option tab:
Otherwise, can you send post a model here that we can try rendering it, to see what the problem is?
If you put a saved .skp or .skb file in a zip file, that zip file can be attached to a message here, using the Upload Files function.
