I was working on a model recently that included a few components that weren't perfect matches for selecting presets (or Defaults) on the Edit Materials dialog. It certainly was easy enough to adjust Reflection Intensity and Sharpness to achieve the porcelain look that I was after, but I'm not sure I remember the exact values that I finally decided to use. The Defaults tab lists 9 very useful presets that make it easy to render plastic, metal, mirror, and shade (used to render a lamp shade or similar material). These rendering options are very helpful and I think what I would like is to be able to add my own as well, so that the next time I want to render porcelain, leather, formica, semi-gloss paint, or other material types that I've spent time experimenting and then deciding on the ideal values, I can just select from a list of "user defined" presets. I imagine that just like the application's presets I'll be able to adjust the values, but just like the defaults in the software, I will probably not feel that it's necessary to do so.
I think this might be an interesting and very helpful addition to the rendering program and the rest of the team here at Render Plus suggested that I post this on the forum to learn from other users whether this might be a helpful new feature.
I look forward to hearing from IRender nXt users and although I think I've described this properly, please let me know if you need more detail. I'm very interested in features that might be added to the software that will add to the software's great reputation for ease of use and efficiency.
