Hi,

 

I was rendering a large image (9000 x 4016) and received an error once the rendering was complete and I tried to save.  It's running from a Sketchup Model.

 

The error reads like this:

 

Rendered Image does not exist: C:\Documents and Settings\kimo\Desktop\Lobby new.jpg

    (VER:  JD13nxt - 2K62 - IPJD1916I)
    Click More to send message to Support.

 

I've ran renderings of this size before and never had a problem - This rendering took 45 hours and 38 minutes to run 20 passes and I would hate to lose the image as I need to get it to a client.  Is there any way to save it?  What does this error mean?

We're not sure what is wrong. Here are a few quick tips.
(Later try rendering to this size again - perhaps a smaller model, and see if it save properly)

If the rendering window is still open, use the copy button to the right of the save button to copy the image to the clipboard, then open paint or another imaging program and paste the image in the drawing.

If you had autosave on, (it is on by default), their should be an autosave image somewhere as well.
The autosave images should be in My Documents\IRender
Mote ideas:

Make sure that the folder: C:\Documents and Settings\kimo\Desktop\ exists on your computer.

Try saving a copy of the image to some other folder

Try saving a copy of the image in a different extension (e.g. .PNG)

Try saving it to a different name.
This is really frustrating.

I tried the clipboard thing yesterday, and it tells me it saves successfully to the clipboard, but photoshop doesn't recognize it and paint gives me an error.

It's not in the autosave folder, though other images I have rendered in the past are.

The C: folder that oyu list exists. I've tried saving it to another folder, I get the same error if I change the extension and changing the name doesn't help.

I'm incredibly frustrated after this took so long to render and now I can't get the image to my client! Looks like I'll have to rerender and let them know there will be a delay.

Can you try to paste it to something else from the clipboard - e.g. Microsoft Word or another paint program?

Also, try saving it in nXtImage format. If you can save it in nXtImage format and load the nXt Image editor, then you can try to save the .JPG from the nXt Image Editor.
Ahh, I already closed the window so I could start another rendering (If i try to run two at the same time, it closes the window anyway). I did run a draft one and it saved find. I can cut and paste other things from the clipboard.

If the problem is with the rendering size we will want to track it down.

When you do you large rendering, make sure autosave is on and set to 1 or two passes (If it takes an hour or pass, or so, to render then image then the extra time for an autosave every pass will be be negligible).

After the first pass, make sure the autosave is working.

You can also set the rendering to run for only one or two passes, then save the image and make sure it works, then use the "Resume Render" button to add more passes without having to restart the rendering.
