SketchUp 8

"We have just recently received the emails about Google Sketchup 8 Pro being released. We havent upgraded yet as for us the pdfs and space design are the most important before we start looking at the new features. For this reason I would like to ask you if you could give us an idea of when they might be compatible or if they are already?"

  • Thanks Rich and Al
  • We just uploaded a new Beta version of IRender nXt and a new RpTools that run in SketchUp 8.

The new versions can be downloaded from:

    http://www.renderplus.com/php/download_links.php

RPS 3D PDF can still be used, but the SketchUp file must be saved in the SketchUp 7 format. We are waiting for SketchUp to release a new version of their SDK which will allow us to read SketchUp 8 files.

All of our other products appear to be working with SketchUp 8.

We will post new "Stable" versions of IRender nXT and nXtRender for downloading in a few days, after further testing.
  • Al,

Just found another problem with SU-8. As test I tried to create a 3D PDF with your software using a small model that I completed in SU8 and it immediately saves a zero bit file - nothing at all in it. I saved the same file as a SU7 and was able to create a 3D PDF with no problem.
  • We tested IRender nXt yesterday and discovered a problem we need to fix. We will test the other products today or Tuesday (Monday is a holiday in the US) and report on them at that time.
