Iv been using texture mapping with displacement to try and get better effects on my render.
9 times out of 10 the textures will do what it is told and i have no problems. then some times where there is a opening it will do some strange stuff. eg renders images attached. the only way to resolve this problem is to break the hole face into small faces or add the texture to the back side face off the wall. is there something im doing wrong?
also if it has any shape other then a rectangle and has this problem it is impassable to resolve

Can you post a sample model where this is getting the strange result, so we can reproduce it and see what's happening?
