Hello Guys,

I was hoping you could help me with an issue.

My model (see link below for a edited version to make it smaller in size)  is rendering with a heavy dark reflection in the windows.

The windows I am using are a model I downloaded and I confirmed they are translucent Blue glass that was darkened / tinted gray.  I have tried playing with the various settings I saw in other forum posts but I get windows that are not clear or reflective, just solid colors.

I am using the factory iRender NxT setting (attached config file)

I also attached the 20 pass render small & a screen capture of my view in SU 2015.

Can you recommend settings to get my windows transparent with just a hint of reflection for realism.

Thanks for the help!

Mike

  • Great, thanks!  I will try that and see what happens!

  • If I copy that window into a new empty model, I see that there are 4 glass materials being used it it, even after I use Purge Unused.

So it's 2 panes of glass with different materials on both sides. I believe that you would have to edit all 4 materials to be able to control the reflection and transparency.

I would suggest changing that window so that there is only one transparent material being used, to make things less complicated.
