Hi,

I am finding that IRender Nxt is crashing when I try to render any animations. It does the required number of passes for the first frame and then attempts to do an extra one instead of moving onto frame two. It then crashes with the message 'AVI_movie_file is not open'. Any idea what the problem may be and how it could be resolved. Thanks in advance.

Could you try making the same animation but sending the output to .jpg or .png files? You can do that by just setting the extension of the output to be either ".jpg" or ".png":

Doing that doesn't try to automatically assemble the movie, but saves all of the images in a folder, numbered sequentially, to be converted to a movie later. If that works, that will tell us whether it's a codec problem or some other problem.

By the way, saving the individual image files is a smart way to make animations anyway, since you can use a different program to make animations, which might let you choose different output formats besides AVI, such as MP4. A lot of people use Gimp to do that, and I can do it in Photoshop.

We include a program in the IRender nXt program folder called RpMakeAvi.exe, which can be found in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Render Plus Systems\IRender_nXt\bin_Nxt on a 64 bit machine, which uses the same logic we use to automatically make the .avi file.
