There is no way to make it work in RpTreemaker right now.

We need to  write a routine to make an image from the ground cover and then use that image as a texture for a material, so that you could see the ground cover in SketchUp by applying that material to a surface, but we haven't done that yet.

Thank you for answer.

1. So, why there is Groundcover choice in rptreemaker menu, when you click new?

2. In your product section rptreemaker detail there is explanation how to make ground cover.

3. Will be groundcover in next version?

Thanks

In our IRender nXt product, the nXt developers gave us a tool to create trees which would render in IRender nXt as fractal 3D trees, with many leaves etc., instead of just a flat image. We also used that tool to create RpTreeMaker, as a free application, using the trees that that program generates, to create the flat tree components that we place in SketchUp. Later the nXt developer added Ground Cover to the same tool, so it's a choice in the program now, but will not work as a tree.

In IRender nXt you can assign the Gound Covers to a surface as an object property, to be used in the rendering, but they do not appear in the SketchUp drawing. The procedure to do that is explained here:

http://www.renderplus.com/wk/Ground_Cover_w.htm

I cannot guarantee that ground covers will be added to RpTreeMaker, but perhaps, if we get time.

I bought iRender nXt, so it will work in it? Thank you very much a i ll try that link and write my result

I used Irender nxt and procedure from link you have posted http://www.renderplus.com/wk/Ground_Cover_w.htm.

But it is not working

It seems to have quit working in the latest version. I'll fix it and post a new version.

Until I get it posted, you can do this:

Run RpTreemaker, by clicking on the file C:\Program Files\Render Plus Systems\IRender_nXt\bin_Nxt\nXtPlantEditor.exe or C:\Program Files (x86)\Render Plus Systems\IRender_nXt\bin_Nxt\nXtPlantEditor.exe

Save a ground cover as a file, it will have a .ArGroundcover extension.

Then use the IRender Object properties dialog to load that groundcover for a surface. That still works.

I am sorry,

i did everything you wrote, i draw a rectangle with surface. then right click and Irender ntx -set object propertise,

then i you browse button, upload my test.ArGroundcover file. Then i click to render and i see just surface, no leaves

I can't duplicate that here.

When you right click on the surface to see the object properties, does it show the link to the groundcover, like this?

Can you try a simple rectangular face?

Maybe it was a group or component or something.

I posted a new install with a version of RpTreeMaker that will work again from inside SketchUp.

It's the same version number, KI02, but a different zip file for the install, with a "b" added to the zip file name.

Just install it over your current install to get this fix.

object properties are same as yours ( diffrent way C:/xxx/xxx/test.argroundcover)

There is just one single rectangle, no comp or groups

Where is that new version? in download section? thanks

The new download is on this link:

http://www.renderplus.com/php/download_links.php

Can you make a small model where you've applied a ground cover and it doesn't render, and send it to me?

Maybe just Nancy and a rectangle.

Hopefully I can duplicate it here.

Also send me the .ArGroundcover file you're loading.
