Hi All,

I'm about to start learning more about rendering animations and was wondering if there where any tutorials available!

Any information on how to get started will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Yes that seems to work OK!
Can you post the animation that it made, and I can see if I can determine what codec they used to make it.

That file says that it was made with the Cinepak codec. That would be the CVID codec that we can't get to work for you.

So for some reason our software just doesn't work with that codec on your machine.

Do you have another computer that we could test this on?

Yes, I have a lap top, its not with me but I'll grab it back tomorrow and try it out.

I'll let you know tomorrow what happens!

Thank you for your help with this by the way.

We could install IRender nXt on it and see if the CVID codec works for us on it.

Hi Rich,

The laptop work fines for the animations (Although very slow!). But it is the old version of irender!

I have attached some screen shots of the codecs and the animations it produced.

Did you want me to re-install the latest version? If so will the trial code be ok for the laptop?

Regards

Fred

The Cinepak codec version is the same number as the one you showed from your main machine

Perhaps a new install of the Cinepak codec would fix something that's broken.

Searching the internet, I found this post:

http://www.moviecodec.com/video-codecs/cinepak-win2003-std-5611/

which discusses what should be in the registry for the CInepak codec.

Are you comfortable running 'regedit', to look at the registry?

What is regedit? sorry I'm not good with computers!

It's a tool used to edit the registry.

I don't want to ask you to use it, if you've never used it before.

Hi,

The latest thing I got advised to do was to completely remove windows media player and then re-install it!!

This didn't work either!!!!

Is there anything else I can do?

Regards

Fred
