I produce a model of a machine and set up the attributes for that machine.
These will include power requirements. I have another model of the building
in which I am going to place that machine. The building model also has
attributes set up including power requirement.

I now take the model of the machine and place it in the building model.
Will I be able to produce a single report that will include attributes from
the machine model and the building model to give me total power?

The way things are set up now, we only report on Groups and Components in a model, not on the model itself.

So to get a report for the model itself, you will need to place a group or omponent in the model with the attributes for the model.

If there is some common component which will appear in all models, you can place the attributes on it and get the combined report.

In the example below, I placed a component with a logo on it in the model, and placed attributes on the logo.

The I placed two instances of a machine. When I rpoduice a report it includes a line for the model and an additional line for the machines.

Here are the attributes for power and extended power (power times quantity)

Will this work for you?
