I created a model, rendered it, then did an animation with a small sized frame. All worked well.  I then added some detail to the model, added some components and scenes, then tried to render it.  The rendering with textures was fine.  I then tried to do an animation.  The animation frame appeared, it went through the percentages of loading and then a batch error occurred before the renderings for the animation started.  That was it, no animation. The simpler version of this model animated OK.  Now even after cutting out some parts of the model, it would not animate?? What's going on? I'm attaching a small version of the movie that worked.  I could not do it again??

Can you send us the model that doesn't work for animation? The smaller the better.

I'll try it here and see if I can figure out what doesn't work in it.

You can use the Uploads menu selection above to send us the model.

Thanks.

Here's the file that wouldn't animate.

Thanks

I was able to create the animation on my desktop machine, but got the error that you were getting on my laptop right away, on the first pass.

I then installed the latest version of IRender nXt, KG06, from our downloads page on my laptop and I was then able to create the animation...at least it is working now, it says it has 5 hours remaining to create all the frames, so I won't wait for it to finish.

Could you try the latest version? This is probably a bug we fixed last week.

It an be downloaded from:

http://www.renderplus.com/php/download_links.php

Thanks Rich,

I am using the latest version which I downloaded and installed several days ago.

I tried the animation with just the dome.  It worked well.  Then I tried the animation with the base elements, without the dome and it worked.  When I do it with all of the elements, it crashes.

Let me know what you think is wrong.  I'm using the latest version.

I can only assume that you're running out of memory, doing the with both sets of geometry present.

It crashes on the first pass right?

You can render the first scene OK without do an animation, right?

When you just render a scene, we only send the geometry that's visible in that scene.

When do render and animation, we send all the geometry in the model, whether it's visible in any of the scenes or not, since we reload the geometry between scenes if a scene has different layers turn off.

Is it possible that there is geometry in other layers that is being sent for the animation that might be causing the problem?

I'll try in on a 4th test machine here, and see if I can get it to fail.

It still fails on my 32 bit XP test machine with the KG06 build.

I'll see if I can figure out what's causing it.

I created a new, what I thought would be a much smaller file.  Well it isn't much smaller.  What's interesting is that the previous file which you are testing, wouldn't start to render on my machine.  It would crash moments after the file loaded for rendering. Now the new file starts to render and it gets to a points that indicates pass 12 of 271 then the batch error appears.  I sure hope that you can figure out what's happening.  I've attached the new file and error message.

Thanks, I'm staying tuned.

I doubt that I'm running out of memory my machine has 8 gig of RAM.

Would you try this version, KG13, for me?

http://www.mediafire.com/file/xd5dj8925zkmkq6/IRender_3_KG13nxt.zip

We changed a few things with materials and the rendering display tat night have been causing the problem.

It seems to be working fine for me on the 2 machines here, where your model was failing earlier.

I'll try your new model here tomorrow.

Rich,

You did it!  I tried to do a rendered animation with my first Dome model which was about 6mb.

It worked beautifully.  It worked well with most of my models.  One strange movie happened with the small gym model that I sent the other day.  It did not crash, but only half of the model rendered??

Is KG13 a beta or is it going to be officially published.  Whatever rendered animation is now feasible.

Many thanks,

RL

Great!

I'll probably post a new version with this fix tomorrow.

We'll have to look into that one "half render " model. Did it maybe have a clipping plane in it?

Please let me know if you see any other strange things...Thanks!
