I keep adding lighting such as spot light, and point lights to my sketch also trying to use an object as a light and none of these seem to work when I render my model and also it takes very long to render any suggestions for my issues?

Can you share the model so that I can try to render it here?
If you zip the file first, you can use the Upload Files button to attach the .zip file to a reply here. Then we could try it. Obviously, the smaller the file, the better for testing.
Hope it works
No, I could not get the file. Perhaps it is too large to post here.
Could you use this link to send the file to us:

Thanks.
Got it.
I think that the problem is that the scale for this model is huge.
When I measure the distance to the top of the stucture below it says that it is 481,295 feet tall.
I believe that the fix is to get this model in proper scale some how. I don't know an easy way to do that for this model, since SketchUp's rescale model tool doesn't handle imported components.
Also, the fence doesn't render because it is made up of edges, not 3D faces.
if you turn on Render Orphan edges, you will see the fence in the rendering.
been having an issue with the tape tool its not allowing me to edit the measurement to what i want it to be im using a mac and i render these stuff using a virtual machine with windows running
I found that too. That's why I said I didn't know how you could easily rescale this model to a realistic scale.
Where did all these huge components come from?
Or did you get this model from someone else?
i made some and got some frm sketchup warehouse
I also wanna create realistic looking grass how do i do that
oh and im trying to use the "crabfest" object as a light along with other and that dont work either
I cannot Reply to your grass post, it must be nested to deeply for any more replies.
See this forum posting about grass:

About the "crabfest object as a light" problem, if you could make a very small model and share it that would help. That other model was just too large to do any investigating, along with the fact that the scale was way out of range to use lights.
