Does anyone know of an AccuRender material, or what the settings might be, to use for a metallic paint for a rendering of a car?

Hi Rich

I make my own material for metalic paint.

Open Photoshop

make a 300 x 300 pixel new file

Paint bucket it with any solid colour (I used purple)

Go to

Filter / noise / add noise

I used 10% noise but you can experiment with other values.

Save the file as a JPG

In sketchup make a new material using this file.

Select and edit the material in the NXT toolbar and make it metal.

Rendered it looks like the attached.

Also attached the JPG

Hope this helps.
