When you get an error message like that and you want to show it to us as a screen shot, it's a good idea to click on the "More" button first. Then it will display an error of where the error is occurring, it will give us the name of the file and the line number of the code being executed, so we can go to the code and see what might be going wrong.
As you suggest, having a simple model where this happens would help us track it down.
