Can you zip up that skp file and post it so that I can render it here?

Yes, I wiil send the project. It was made very simple in order to test the volumetric fog thru the stained glass window. I'm preparing for a cathedral design, so I need that effect for rendering. By the way, I have rendered 24 hours the same project and the result is the same (Dell vostro 220 - dual core, 4G).

Did you send it?

cannot upload it, I will try it again.

I only see a .rar file called Untitled.rar, which says "Server Problem" in my download pane...

And it doesn't seem to download any thing.

Is that what you uploaded?

You don't have permission to access "http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/2506653370?profile=original" on this server.

Thanks, we got the zip file.

I'll render it with a few different setting, to see if anything helps.

Looking at the documentation:

http://www.renderplus.com/wp2/wk/Volumetric_Fog.php

I see that the samples Al posted took a long time, many passes, to render and smooth out. He also explains there that applying smoothing filters might be necessary to improve the final result. You might want to try that.

We're also re-rendering stain glass model that he originally used on the page above, to see if the Path Tracer rendering engine still produces the same result.

Even for that simple test model after 24 hours of rendering the picture looks the same. I have to know if I need months of rendering for a biger project, or the settings that I use, are the problem. The volumetric fog capability is a great improve for Irender nxt, but maybe it came too early, speaking about average home computers power.
