Hi,
I have downloaded a trial version of Space Design and am trying to create a report that will display a list showing a count of all the various definitions in a file but will break out any definitions that have had something typed into the Name (not the Definition Name) box.
Ive attached a jpg of what Im hoping to achieve and hope someone can help me.
Thanks
Sam

Can anyone help with this please? Is it even possible to list the 'Name' as a sub part of the 'Definition Name'? I would like to be able to collect the data from the entity info pallet rather than having to right click and set attributes. Ive uploaded another screen grab showing a file with more entities in it so you can hopefully see what Im trying to get to.
Thanks for any help and advice.
Cheers
Sam
You can add fields based on just the instance name and definition by using adding attributes based on $iname and $name respectively, as below:
This makes a report that looks like this (I had 2 unnamed Coffe Tables in my drawing.):
We do not have a way to show the subtotals yet though. That is something that we would have to add to SpaceDesign.
We can easily add sub-totals.
Basically, you would specific a column name, e.g. Definition Name for sub-totals and sub-totals would be displayed and cleared when the value in that column changed.
We would put it in line, with the columns being totaled, rather than in a new column, so the report would look like this:
Let us know when you are ready to purchase SpaceDesign and we will add this feature.
I moved the sub-total stuff to a new thread:

Hi guys,
Thanks for your responses on this - looks good! Just realised that my trial version ran out - thought it started once I installed not from the date of download so need to test on a new machine now but this looks promising for us....
Thanks again.
Sam
Your trial started on the day you first downloaded SpaceDesign. I have sent you a 30-day trial extension by email.
You can use the code now to renew the trial, but the new version won't be put out until later today or tomorrow (We will add a notification to this post)
Note also, the price of SpaceDesign is rising on Nov 1 from $99.00 to $179.00, so you may want to make your purchase decision before the price rises.
Thanks for the extension - will run some further tests and come back to you.
Try downloading the latest version of SpaceDesign. It has the sub-total feature.
