I have just updated my RenderPlus Nxt to JJ06, RPS nXt libraries and the Rp TreeMaker.  I attempted to use Rp TreeMaker "load from Library" option and render some trees in the "large trees" library in the nXt plants directory, the design panel appeared normal but the generation phase failed immediately!  I have tried this on two machines, one running Vista and the other windows 7.  Last week, prior to the upgrades, this function worked fine and produced some beautiful trees. The other functions in create Rp TreeMaker & load from library (Accurender & AR2_plants) worked fine.

I vaguely recall some reference about losing some types of plants in the upgrade but maybe these should be taken out in the upgrade uninstall/install?

Hope you can help because I miss those trees!

I've found an additional problem. When in rendering mode you are able to stop the process, change nXt colour attributes by double clicking a surface, and restart the render. This is very useful for "fine" tuning a scene.
I am experiencing a weird effect where several, but not all, trees will disappear from view when I restart. These trees were not created from the nXt library as detailed above.

Any help/comments on this discussion? Do people use treemaker much? I find it essential for creating realism in my renders.
Am I the only one using treemaker and having trouble with the new releases? I have been using treemaker for a long time with no trouble (I'm used to it's features and process time so I don't get impatient with it). I have found that it just quits on me now when I try to start it from the dialogue box within Sketchup. Have I missed an announcement that nXt plants are no longer supported?

This is a great product and I know it is free, but it is a resource I'm sure many use and will miss...
Hi Stephen.
Sorry no bodies replied which is strange?
I don't use it much at the moment, doing mostly objects or interiors, but I just tried it out with JJ06, and worked fine for me, see below, Do you get any error messages etc or does it just stop working.

I've upgraded to Irender nXt Sketchup jj15. JJ06 still half works (see my first post) on my other computer and I'll not be updating that version until this is sorted out. And in answer to your question, yes it stops abruptly with a windows error message saying this application has stopped working.

Maybe it's just my system, but I changed nothing other than the latest Irender programme, library & treemaker itself. (Also I'm still using Sketchup 7 so no weirdness there!).

Was the tree you uploaded produced from the nXt plants library? [see first post again]
Hi Stephen

There has been another stable release JJ20 with plant fixes, I have been able to test yet, but download and have ago.

The new release jj20 solves my treemaker problems! Thanks for the help.
jj20 still crashes with treemaker. I inserted an older tree and nXt rendered it 5 or 10 times bigger than it was in the model. treemaker would crash with using all defaults and received the same error.

ERROR during RB_EVAL command: $irnxt.rb_make_tree_maker_plant

I notice an error is thrown in RpTreeMaker for some trees when applying Shadow Mask Resolution when creating the component in SketchUp, so you might need to make sure this 'feature' is turned off...you don't need it, it was just added for VRay users.

We plan to make make 'Off' the default is the next release, until we can figure out why the feature doesn't work for some trees.
I'm getting ready to track down the error.

Can you send me the file: C:\DOCUME~1\Jim\LOCALS~1\Temp\RPS_IRender_Images\Standard Tree (15).rb

This is a file we create and then try to execute. It must have a bad value - such as a 0-length line.

Thanks,

We've been able to duplicate it here. Will try to fix it Monday.
