Thumnails not showing up in RP Tools

I assume you are referring to the thumbnails on the component browser.

 

Make sure you have thumbnail mode selected:

 

There were problems with some of the domains you tried to renew. You have not been charged for the domains with errors. Contact support@estreet.com with domains you were trying to renew and we will complete the renewals for you.

Domains that could not be renewed:

renderplus.com -
Registration cannot be extended. This domain is expired.

Hi,

I do have thumbnails selected. All I get is a blank box. Rich I did try the new download you suggested & still the same thing. Any other ideas?

I just download the KD12 version that I posted, and reinstalled it, and it fixed the problem that I saw...

Are these components, where you can see the thumbnails, in the model, or on the hard drive?

Could you send me one or a few, or if they are in a model, send me a small model?

I copied your plants to my Components folder. They do show up for me. I did have to click on the refresh button to get them. Maybe that would help?

AHA - I recall that you have to use the refresh button whenever new component are added to the disk locations, so that we can add them to the list and get their thumbnails.

 

I don't know if that is related to this problem or not. (I would have thought that they would simply not have been in the list)

Right, they weren't in the list until I clicked the Reset button.

Joe,

 

Can you click the tool icon to insure that it shows you are running version KD12?

(Sometimes the installations do not work properly)

Al,

I checked & I am running KD 12t(trial version) Were is the refresh button? Rich sorry I didn't check this sooner I thought you were going to send me an email back. My bad!

The refresh button is at the bottom of the dialog.

I doubt that that will fix it, though.

Could you try copying just the 2 components that you sent me to a new folder in Components...call the new folder "Test" or something, and then click the Refresh button and see if they appear, and their thumbnails appear?

I'm wondering if there is maybe another component in your plants folder that's breaking things.

I did copy your components to 2 other "ghosted" machines yesterday, a 32 bit and a 6 bit machine, and their thumbnails show up on those.

One more thing, do you get any thumbnails at all, say for the components that aren't yours? Or for components in the model?

Rich,

I tried the test folder with a couple of plants... same result. A couple of thumbs show up from other component folders I have but not all. When I do place components in the model they show up fine. I actually have 5 folders of plants totaling about 3,000 plants. I don't know if a component can be breaking things up in all 5 folders.
