Hi,

I have just downloaded the latest version of Irender but it doesn't load up in sketchup!!!!

Even the old version I had on there won't even work now as well!

Would anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I'm sorry that you, (and others),  sometimes have problems with this.

Part of the problem has to do with new and old versions stored on your machine and the various versions of SketchUp you may have installed. Also, as part of the new version we are supporting "SketchUp/Extensions" under the SketchUp Preferences menu- which can be used to enable and disable specific extensions - such as IRender nXt. This should be our problem, not yours, but sometimes things get messed up.

Usually the best thing to do is to:

1. uninstall IRender nXt.

2. Make sure there is nothing in your SketchUp plugins folder which starts with IRender (e.g.IRender_Nxt_loader.rb).

- Remove anything in the Plugins Folder which starts with IRender.

3. Make sure you do not have a folder called IRender_nXt_Beta in Program files.  "C:\Program Files\Render Plus Systems\IRender_nXt_Beta". (This step gets confusing, because on 64 bit machines this is actually in "C:\Program Files (X86)\Render Plus Systems\IRender_nXt_Beta"

- If this folder exists, remove it.

4. Re-install SketchUp.

- Make sure you select the location of the proper version of SketchUp during installation.

5. If it still fails, load the ruby console and see if you get any errors if you type in (followed by enter):

load 'IRender_loader.rb'    (enter)

load 'Render Plus/IRender_Nxt.rb'   (enter)

Let us know if either of these gives an error message.

Thanks Al,

That seems to have done the job!

Hi Al,

The only thing it won't let me do now is install the materials library!

What happens?

Is there an error message?

Hi Al,

Every time I load up the materials library it can't find it, and keeps saying I have to download it as it is not installed!!

Fred,

Are you still having this problem?

Hi Al,

Funny enough I just re-installed Irender and librairies this morning as I still did have the problem.

But this morning I un-installed sketchup and Irender completely and re-installed them both, this worked thankfully.

Thanks for asking.

Fred
