Hello

the following image is from my point of view a bit grany compare to the one shown in the gallery, despite 50 passes so, what parameter is relevent for that?

How many passes usually used?

Packet mode after only 88 passes.

It seems this algorythm is really much better and faster no?

See this thread: Path Tracer vs Packet Mode

Not absolutely sure but it seems that JL29 version I just bought is much better than the one I evaluated before Christmas.

I tried 1000 passes in path trace mode, which seems to be now the default mode and I got a better image.

IRender nXt remembers which mode (Packet or Path Tracer) you used last, and uses it the next time. So the "default mode" is our default only the first time, (or if you select "Load Factory Defaults" from the More Setup Tab. Otherwise, most things default to whatever you used last.

Most times the Path Tracer makes a better image, but you need to have the time to let it render.
