The term Backplate is used more often in association with CGI and 3D. Backplates are 2D background images of landscapes suitable for any kind of advertising and specially for Automotive Backgrounds and CGI Backgrounds.

Looks like a lot of nice HDR images there. I couldn't figure how to finally get to see the price though, and need to get back to work...
