fabric texture Irender nxt

Is there a way where i can have the red and white section of this sketch to look like stretched fabric/cloth?

All I can think of is to break up the surfaces and distort the textures near the corners, and/or us a surface wher you can somehow soften the edges so that it does not appear flat.
