Hi all,
Whenever I try and Render a large model (and sometimes even with smaller models) It gets to the point of "Starting Raytracing" then freezes. I've even left it overnight and still wont budge. I have also tried rendering straight through the 'batch' file and still get to the same point. Ive tried purging the model and using simpler components because of how large the model is but still get the same result. Is there a way I can work around this or could it be a computer issue?
Thanks!

Could you send me the smallest model possible where this is happening for you so that I can try it here, to see if it's something in the model that's causing this? You can send it to me using: http://www.renderplus.com/wp2/uploads/
I sent the file thanks again. I'm thinking the model is just too big. If so is there a way of simplifying to reduce the size or is it a lost cause?
It is huge. I had to stop trying to render it. It was taking too long just during the first step of saving the data for the rendering, and slowing down my machine too much.
I'll try it on another machine where I can let it go and see if it ever finishes.
I don't know how to make it smaller, except for the trick of using images instead of components for things that won't affect the final image.
Thank you so much for all the help I really appreciate it. Ive started simplifying everything and ill try deleting all the lights to see if that helps. Thanks again!
I was not able to find anything out about why the model that you sent would not render.
Like you, I just see the "Starting Raytracing" message and the rendering seems to have stoppped, with no error messages.
I can only assume that is is too large for us to handle.
