When I render (Irender NXT) from the 'match photo' scene in Sketchup pro 8 the resulting image is distoted (flattened)

I have tried having the 'use sketchup aspect ratio' on and off - makes no difference.

If I 'orbit' the model by the merest fraction it renders perfectly. This only ever happens in the match photo view. Makes no difference if the background image is on or off.

The 2 attached files demonstrate the problem.

The 'OK' one was rendered in the match photo scene but the model was fractionally orbitted.

Any thoughts

Send the .SKP file to support@renderplus.com so we can take a look

Al you are anything but dumb !

It's a Land Rover Defender not a Hummer so the 'tall' one is correct !

I will send the SKP file as requested.

Hi Al

Tried to send the file to support@renderplus.com but was rejected as it';s too big.

I will prepare a smaller file to demonstrate the problem in the morning - it's 10.00pm in the UK at the moment so almost time for bed !

You can also upload it from the Upload tab at the top of this page. If you do, be sure to add a comment so we know what the file was for.

Hi Rich

Thanks for your help with this.

As you advised if I 'minimise' the sketchup window to the proportions of the photo in the 'match photo' scene , then render, the render is not distorted and all is OK.

Mike

We'll try to fix this distortion that we're getting from the Photomatch scene, when the view view aspect ratio is different that the aspect ratio of the photo.

Also, hopefully tomorrow, we'll post a new version of IRender nXt where you can position and distort the background image the way you want it, without having to go to PhotoShop to use their Distort or Perspective transformations. Then you should be able to simply use our Position Background Image dialog to do this.

Thanks Rich that would be great - really help us guys who need to place our rendered images 'in context' with a photo of the site.

IrenderNXT gets better and better !

Hi Rich

I Have downloaded the new version and had a play with the tools to manipulate the background - absolutely superb. This saves me so much time by not having to go into photoshop to combine rendered images and background photographs to produce 'in context' photo montages. Also the ability to be able to adjust brightness and contrast of the background in the same window is a big help as I can now tweak skies, for instance, to suit the time of day of the scene (I do quite a lot of evening shots with external artificial lights) and I would normally have to tweak a sky in photoshop to suit - not any more !!

Many thanks - can't wait to see what you dream up next to improve an already brilliant bit of software.

Regards

Mike
