I have a model - freestanding structure just sitting on a floor.  When I try to render a view, the area above the floor comes out green.  In the sketchup model its white.  I'm using the studio preset.

Look at your SketchUp Style for the model.

Is it the Sky color that is showing in the rendering?

Using the studio preset, the sky will always be based on the hdri chosen, not the sketchup sky colour, it turns off sketchup sky by default.

Simple cube renderer with default simple style but set for studio preset in IRender - are you seeing something like this.

yes, exactly.  How do I get rid of the green?  Ideally would like the floor to almost blend in with the "sky"

Here's a model where I'm getting the background color from the Green Sky color, like you are. This is using the IRender Studio Preset:

Notice that there is still a little bit of green tint on the floor caused by the HDRi sky. If I change the SketchUp Style Sky color to white, I get:

If I set the IRender Sky mode to "Colors" instead of "HDRi", I get:
