I need to show the material of my component in sketchup on the space design report. Sketchup's "Generate Report" function reports the component's material automatically, so I know this is possible. I just don't know the correct code or "add new attribute" entry.

PLEASE HELP!

We will have to add this capability.

Do you want to report the material assigned to the placed component instance?

I notice that the SketchUp report always shows the default material. Below the material Brick_Antique has been placed on Susan, but the report shows the default material, 96,96,96. Unless I'm missing something...

I used several different "materials" in sketchup on several different components in my model and when I "Generate Report" in sketchup, all of the different materials show up on the CSV file....So I'm not sure why it didn't do that on your end?

See pic.

Probably because Color is a dynamic component attribute for Susan.

We can probably just add the Material as a field you can include on the report, and then we can override it with a dynamic attribute if there's a need to do that.

That would be great!

We will post our progress later next week.

Thanks,

I finally got around to looking into adding Material as a field that you could use, and found it was already there. See this link for these special "$" Attributes:

Just Add "$material" as a material to include in the report and you get'll it.
