Hi there,
I am doing a deployment for classroom lab where many users come and go to do their lessons. Previously we had to manually activate each PC with our license which we could work with (all our software gets automatically deployed).
However with the version that we have packaged for deployment (NJ29) it is putting the activation file in the users own profile, therefore when another user logs on the license details must be added again for that user. We do not want to give our license details out to the students to do for themselves nor can we handle the administrative overhead of having a teacher apply the registration code for every new student that needs to use a PC.
Is this intended design or is there a fix I can use/apply?
Thanks,
Karl

As you say, we store the license and authcode for that machine in the Users' AppData folder in the folder C:\Users\[Your User name]\AppData\Roaming\Render Plus Systems, in a file called IRender.
Once you have generated an "IRender.ini" file for your lab license, you can copy that file to a folder named "Render Plus Systems", in C:\ProgramData
C:\ProgramData\Render Plus Systems
and all users on that machine should come up authorized.
The only data in that file that is used for authorizing in the license number and authcode. The other lines were just added for debugging purposes.
Please try that.
Thanks for this. I will be able to retroactively make this work for the current semester.
Is there a chance you can put into any new releases that it does this by default, or at least give an option to choose? The fact that we have to activate 60+ PCs manually is already quite inconvenient (we already automate the installation), having copy files to make it work properly for all users is a bit much as Im sure you can understand.
Cheers,
Karl
