Hello,
I am not using I Render very often, so I might have missed something basic. I did rendering of an bathroom. There is a light behind the shower glass next to the mirror. On the other side it is on, but this one appeared off after the rendering. I did a rendering from different angle and the light was on, so the setting is fine. I assume it is because it is behind the glass? It doesn't make any sense to me since the glass is transparent. What did I do wrong? The glass was set to thick and I checked daylight and caustic. I thought caustic was the problem but even when I unchecked it the light was still off. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try hiding the glass in SketchUp (the easiest way is to put it in a layer, and turn off the layer) to see if the light is visible without the glass.
Thick glass may distort things more than you expect. Try setting the Index of Refraction for the glass to 1.00 to turn off the distortion.
Also, make sure you are rendering for at least 10 passes. We only process 1/3rd of the lights on each pass, so some light may not be on yet if you have only 1 or two passes.
There is a setting "Refractive Bounces" on the Render2 setup tab which determines how many panes of glass, etc. light will pass through. The default of 6 should be enough. But if there is glass around the light, and also glass in the shower, etc. you may want to set it to 12 or more to see if that helps.
Can you attach, or send us, the model so that we can take a look at it?
Thanks.
The light works when I hide the glass. I can not make it work with the glass. I made the thick glass with index of refraction 1.00, I played with the "refractive bounces" setting (16 seems to be the highest setting) and I also tried to make the glass thin (the setting in IRender as well as remodeling it in sketchup). No luck so far. I will send the 3D file via email, because it seems to be too big to attach it here....
Did you try turning of Automatic Daylight Portals?
You can use this page to send us a large file:
I just tried to turn the daylight off and it didn't do it either....
Turning off "No Light Source Reflections" on the Shower Glass Material seems to fix it.
I'm not sure how to get around this yet, if you don't want those reflections.
My rendering is below, with the reflections...
Great:) I think I don't care about the reflections...I read that it should make the rendering faster, but i rather have the lights looking good. Thank you.
