It is unlikely that we will find a "magic bullet" to speed this up.

Basically you have to try to make your geometry less complex.

Here are 10 tip we offer.

See if any of them can help you:

• 1 If you can’t see it – hide it!
• 2 Be efficient with your lighting
• 3 Get rid of lights not effecting the scene
• 4 Keep Geometry Simple
• 5 Try to render a smaller resolution
• 6 Replace High Geometry Items with Texture Images
• 7 Use images for trees rather than fractal trees
• 8 Don't make materials reflective which are not necessary
• 9 Use Draft Mode or Lower Resolution Renderings until you are ready for your final rendering
• 10 Use fewer Bump Maps or other fancy material settings
• 11 Turn off Indirect Lighting if you do not need it
• 12 Caustics will slow down your rendering times
• 13 Use HDRi instead of lights
• 14 Analytical sky is most efficient for exteriors
• 15 Fuzzy Reflection will require more passes for a good rendering
• 16 Use a Render Farm or Rendering Cloud for faster processing
• 17 Post Processing can be used to shorten rendering times
• 18 Consider Rendering parts of your model and combining the results

Probably the biggest problem with the models that you sent us is that you have set materials to be light sources for the signs. Making a material a light (setting illuminance) can add many light source to the model and really slow the rendering process down.

Try setting the materials for those signs to "Glow", instead of having "Illuminance", and see if that works for you.

If you need a sign to actually be a light, so that it is bright enough, try making the sign component a single light source, instead of making the materials in the sign all lights sources.

Does all that make sense?

The Materials are actually set to glow for the signs actually. I dont think I added a setting "Illuminance

No, I saw several in the smaller model that you sent. I cannot look at the larger model now, since it is still busy saving the data for the rendering.

Here is part of what I saw in the Lights Query dialog for the smaller model. There was at least one other material that had illuminance set. Try running the Light Edit/Edit function and take a look.

If you use the Light/Edit Query dialog to find the lights that are marked as materials with illuminance set, you can select one of those entries and then click on Edit to bring up the Edit Material dialog for that material.

Then you can simply set the illuminance Wattage setting to zero and click OK. If you then click on Refresh on the Edit/Query dialog, it should show fewer light sources in the model. Repeat that for each unique "Material Illuminance" light shown.
